The Community Foundation of the Lake has provided more assistance to those impacted by the tornado in Eldon and Jefferson City. Immediately after the storms, the CFL tapped into their Disaster Recovery Fund to assist two families who had been displaced due to damages to their homes. That funding provided temporary housing at local hotels for those families. In addition, there were numerous others who couldn’t return home and sought relief from shelters. The CFL donated $5,000 to the Ministerial Alliance at First Christian Church to assist with their efforts. The CFL’s Disaster Recovery Fund was established in 2013 following the tornado in Joplin. It’s available for use in Miller, Morgan, and Camden counties. To learn more or to make a donation to support the fund, visit www.communityfoundationofthelake.com.
