Work is underway on a new station house for the Mid-County Fire District. Chief Scott Frandsen says station number 7 is starting to take shape.
The station will serve residents around Pier 31, Cross Creek, Niangua Bend, and Camelot areas. Customers in those areas currently fall outside of a five road mile radius of a station house. The new building will remedy that and should result in improvements in their insurance rates. Frandsen says they hope to have most of the work done in the next 30-60 days to be able to move some apparatus to the new building.
