Residents in the Lake Area, once again, are being reminded that we are into a stretch considered to be very dangerous for any type of open burning. On Tuesday alone, fire districts in Camden County responded to more than a dozen calls for people burning who should not have been. One of the fires in the D-Road area of the Mid County District started in a burn barrel before getting away and destroying a house in its path. Any open burning today…brush, grass, debris, and wood…is strongly discouraged without first contacting your local fire district to see if it’s a burn day. If you do burn, you should have a water source available nearby and never leave your fire unattended.
