A resurfacing project is awarded, the final step before Camden County takes over part of the old Highway 5.
The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission awarded an almost $380,000 dollar contract to APAC of Missouri last week. The Columbia based company will resurface five miles of the old Route 5 from Route 7 to south of the Laclede County line as well as two miles of Route P in Camden County.
Work is scheduled to start in the spring of 2011 and finish in the fall. Once the work is complete, Camden and Laclede counties will take ownership of the the old Route 5.
