The Co-Mo Electric Cooperative is searching for their next generation of leaders. The co-op wants to send up to six high school sophomores who are educated inside its service territory to the Cooperative Youth Conference and Leadership Experience in July known as CYCLE. Cycle is an all day event teaching children about leadership and introduces them to inspirational speakers who talk about how to step up and serve. They also learn about electric cooperatives and their important role in the fabric of rural America and will attend a session in the Senate and House of Representatives in Jefferson City, proposing and debating a bill of their own before voting on its passage. Applications for the CYCLE program are available at the co-op’s two offices, online at http://co-mo.coop and on their Facebook page at http://facebook.com/comoelectric. Applications must be received by March 29. All winners will be announced in mid-April and those who attend will receive $100 after the conference. Applicants do not have to receive electric service from Co-Mo to attend.
