Missouri’s geography is proving to be a large factor in the struggle to expand broadband service across the state. Janie Dunning will be addressing the challenges of a better broadband network when she speaks to the Lake of the Ozarks Council of Local Governments next week. Dunning says a big part of the problem is making it economically feasible for providers to cover the different population centers.
The population split makes it difficult for the internet companies to recoup the costs of constructing the necessary infrastructure to bring quality, high-speed internet to everyone. Dunning will be addressing several other factors at the meeting Monday morning. It takes place at 10am at Osage Beach City Hall.
