Reports and updates on storm damages continue to come in as crews are able to get out and assess their situations around the lake. In Morgan County, Presiding Commissioner Tony Stephens says they got an early start Wednesday and were able to avoid major problems.
In Camden County, the Sheriff’s Office says they’re trying to keep up to date as water levels change. Wednesday afternoon they reported several areas that were unsafe to cross and completely impassible. Those included locations off of A Road were roadways had been washed out on either side of the slabs, as well some areas around Climax Springs. Miller County authorities also reported several trees down and numerous washouts.
As always, authorities urge motorists to not attempt to cross when there’s water on the roadways. Not only can you be swept away, but you also can’t tell for certain what conditions the roadway is in beneath the flooding.
