Some changes to the minimum length required for you to keep a crappie caught from waterways in Missouri could soon be on the way…that’s according to Greg Stoner, a Fisheries Management Biologist with the Department of Conservation. Stoner says, over the years, growth rates of crappie have improved making it possible to consider changes.
Stoner also says there appears to be widespread support from crappie anglers for the proposed change. The current 9-inch minimum length has been on the books in Missouri since 1989.
