With the November election nearing in which voters will decide on an increase in lodging taxes for a proposed soccer complex, more efforts are being made to get information to the public regarding the issue. CVB Director Tim Jacobsen appeared on “The Ozarks Today” on KRMS to address some concerns. One of the topics he discussed was the disparity in lodging tax contributions from around the lake. In fiscal year 2018 the tax produced $1,770,000.
Camden and Morgan counties currently have a 3% lodging tax, while Miller County has a 5% tax. Voters in all three counties will decide November 5th whether to raise the lodging tax to a maximum 6% across the board.
