With the deadline only one week from today, an announcement is expected to be made this week in regards to a measure for medical marijuana to be placed on the November ballot. The measure was denied after 10,700 of the petitions signatures were invalidated in a St. Louis area district, which left it 2,000 signatures shy of being placed on the ballot. Lake Area Representative Rocky Miller says, while he does support heavily regulated medical marijuana, he doesn’t like this particular measure.
Supporters of the bill believe health issues are the reason some of the signatures don’t match the Secretary of State’s records.
