A recent program to reduce the deer population around Horseshoe Bend and Four Seasons cost about $6,000, but organizers say it was money well spent.
Jim Holcomb says specially-trained firearms experts from the U.S. Department of Agriculture harvested 54 deer during a three day period earlier this month. The cost was split between the Village and the POA. Holcomb says it’s something they’ll definitely do again.
The program was coordinated with the Missouri Department of Conservation and the Camden County Sheriff’s Office.
