A scary confrontation unfolded in Camden County as deputies encountered an armed suspect. The incident happened May 25th when the Camden County Sheriff’s office responded to a reported harassment call. When they arrived on scene, the two deputies came into contact with Michael Martin, who allegedly pointed a shotgun at them. As one deputy pulled his gun and engaged in a short standoff with Martin, the other officer grabbed the barrel of the gun and wrestled it away. The gun was loaded with two shells in the magazine and one in the chamber. Martin was arrested and is charged with armed criminal action and first-degree assault with a special victim.
