Missouri education officials are planning to hold a series of local public hearings to get help from residents on ideas for student achievements in unaccredited school districts. The Missouri department of elementary and secondary education is looking for input from the public on its new plans to create a statewide plan that supports and intervenes in those school districts. So far they have been receiving advice from an education organization and commissioned a study on the issue. They plan to submit their recommendation to the state board of education in the following month. The first hearing will be in Kansas City on Wednesday. Following that there will be another on February 4th in St. Louis and two more on February 6th in southeast and southwest Missouri, locations to be announced later.
