Missouri school districts are feeling the strain as staff shortages continue to mount due to COVID 19, that according to the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

Officials say some districts are having a tough time having enough substitutes ready for the start of the school week, creating a tough challenge for teachers and the students.

DESE worries that some schools be forced to close their doors for several days, until the staffing problems are fixed.
