There seems to have been some miscommunication regarding support of the nightly rental bill, House Bill 608. On Wednesday, word spread from State Representatives that the Missouri Board of Realtors had voted to drop their opposition to the bill. Board President Ryan Gattermeier says that is not the case. He says, in fact, that the Missouri Realtors Advocacy Mission Committee met on Wednesday morning for the second time in the last week to reaffirm that they are not in support of the bill. He did say, however, that if specific amendments were added, such as clarifying that a business license is not required for short-term rentals and stopping political subdivisions from enacting laws that would prohibit nightly rentals, they would change their stance. He say these are the same amendments they presented to the Legislature in the early portion of the session.
