Aldermen in Osage Beach want to refine a plan for incentives for developers building housing units in the city. The proposal was heard in Thursday night’s meeting, but after discussion by the board, it was decided to make some revisions before any votes for approval. City Administrator Jeana Woods says the plan is designed to fill some housing gaps identified in a recent study by the Lake Ozark Regional Economic Development Council.
If ultimately approved, the board would have the option to waive a portion of building permit fees and other fees the developers would normally pay. The plan sets a cap on the amount the units would sell or rent for to ensure they meet the targeted demographics.
