Local News Thursday, May 21st, 2020

Just in time for the holiday weekend, the department of natural resources issues a swimming advisory for Public Beach-1 in the state park.

PB-1 is among three other state parks identified on the list released by the DNR which also includes Harry S. Truman State Park’s day-use beach in Warsaw, Finger Lakes in Columbia and Cuivre River in Troy.

The advisory is issued when e-coli levels exceed 190 colonies per 100 milliliters of water which, typically, happens after a period of rainfall.

Public Beach-2, in Osage Beach, does not appear on the advisory list.
