Recent tragedies on area docks over the years have resulted in changes to local inspection requirements of area docks. Osage Beach Fire Protection District Board of Directors voted unanimously to approve new requirements on the Dock Inspection Program within the Fire District. Jeff Dorhauer, Osage Beach Fire Chief says the dangers on area docks will never go away entirely but its efforts like these that make a difference.
A change adds any dock of a private residence that has a transfer of ownership. Any dock that passes inspection will be good for a period of one year for the purpose of sale of real estate.
Each dock will be considered, as it owns structure. The fees will apply to each dock. The minimum fee is $50.00 Effective date of this new requirement will be September 1st of this year. Questions can be directed to the Osage Beach Fire Protection District at 573-348-1221.
