Since 1962 people have come to know Dogwood Hills as a place to golf eat and stay at the lake, but that is no more. As of this month the golf resort is closing its doors permanently. It all started by a letter posted to the web from Dogwood. In the letter it quotes partner Gary Mitchell mention its tradition and history and a note from Melissa Hunter the General Manager who says Dogwood plans to work with the Lake of the Ozarks Golf Council to relocate current members to other courses. The plan called for a staggered closing of the complex starting with Mitch and Duff’s which has already closed and the Hotel closed this weekend. The final section to close is the golf course, which is set to close November 16th. The reason behind the closing appears to be a new development to be built on the course but officials are not announcing anything at this time.
