A continuance is granted for one suspect in a Sunrise Beach murder case. On Monday, both the prosecution and the defense for Stacy Dory of Shawnee, Kansas were given more time for ongoing discovery and taking depositions. Dory’s trial was supposed to start next week in Boone County Court. Dory is charged with second degree murder and forgery in the death of William Van Note. He was found shot and stabbed at his Sunrise Beach home in October of 2010. Van Note was taken to a Columbia hospital where he died a few days later. Prosecutors allege Dory, her husband Desre and Van Note’s daughter Susan forged a do not resuscitate order that took Van Note off of life support. Dory will be back in court for a status hearing on June 17th.
