A semi truck is the cause of a downed power line in sunrise beach early Monday afternoon. According to Sunrise Beach Police, a semi truck driver struck a power line at the intersection of highway 5 and Lake Road 5-33. The power line fell across the roadway and then onto a parked unoccupied car in the Hurricane Deck Elementary school. The school was evacuated because of the smell of smoke inside the building but there is no word on the cause of the smoke at this time. The road was shortly after re-opened as Co Mo Electric crews resolved the issue. There were no injuries reported.
