“Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” St. Patrick’s Day Weekend

Local News Tuesday, March 10th, 2020

As you would probably expect, law enforcement will be out in force this St. Patrick’s Day weekend in an effort to crack down on impaired drivers who could put an early end to your celebrating. The Missouri Coalition for Roadway Safety has issued its annual reminder that there are various options available to get everyone home safely. The options, among others, include a designated driver, calling a cab or using public transportation or not getting impaired in the first place. The bottom line, according to the coalition: drive sober or get pulled over. The reminder also encourages you to put down cell phones when out-and-about this weekend. Based on 2018 data, 203 people were killed and 541 others seriously injured across Missouri in accidents that involved at least one substance-impaired driver.
