Two people escaped serious injury after the driver of one car was traveling in the wrong lane on Highway 54 in Lake Ozark Saturday (6) night. Lake Ozark Police Chief Gary Launderville says the Miller County Sheriff’s Department was advised of a driver driving the wrong way in the eastbound lane. One of the Lake Ozark Police Officer’s was nearby and apprehended the vehicle. Before that, the police car – driven by Officer Dillon Green, was struck in the right rear corner of the vehicle near the Osage River Bridge. Green then stopped the other vehicle from going over a side of the roadway. The driver of the vehicle was identified as 62-year-old Timothy Rhodes of Osage Beach. Launderville says it is believed that Rhodes was suffering from a medical condition at the time of the incident.
