Some people have been critical of the response by area road crews to the winter weather event that hit the area last week. Several others have praised the way the departments handled the situation. Pat Wolfe is the Road and Bridge Administrator for Camden County and he says even when they prepare in advance, they can’t be everywhere at once, and different areas will be affected in different ways when the weather changes rapidly.
Storm response relies on a network of communication between different counties, agencies, and even calls from the public.
Even with pre-treatment and a rapid, well-planned response, the road crews cannot keep every road perfect every hour of the day. Watching the weather and being a responsible driver plays a big part in your safety on the roadways.
