The Missouri State Highway Patrol has now released more information following a drowning at Lake of the Ozarks over the weekend. The report indicates it happened near the 8.5 mile mark of the Big Niangua near Ha Ha Tonka, in Camden County, shortly after 4:15 Saturday afternoon. A man from St. Ann, identified as 56-year-old Karl Taylor, was swimming near some other anchored vessels when he went under the water and did not resurface. Taylor’s body was recovered a short time later. Initial reports, which are unconfirmed by the highway patrol, indicated that a medical condition may have contributed to the drowning. Taylor was not wearing a personal flotation device at the time.
