The search for two people presumed drowned at Lake of the Ozarks comes to an end late this morning with the recoveries of their bodies. Sergeant Scott White, from the Highway Patrol’s Water Patrol Division, says dive teams were called around 8:30 this morning to the dock area near Der Vater’s Edge by the Niangua Bridge.
The two bodies were recovered around 10:45 this morning after being located by sonar used by the Mid-County Dive Team. The victims are identified as 40-year-old Jacob Seeman from Woodward, Iowa, and 46-year-old Dennis Michel from Ankeny, Iowa. Reports indicate that one of the men swam out to try securing a pontoon boat that started to drift. He began struggling apparently due to a medical condition. The other man swam out to try assisting him and also went under.
