A long-running project to upgrade sidewalks in an Osage Beach neighborhood is closer to completion following a vote by the Board of Aldermen. Thursday night the board approved first reading of a bill to approve a contract with Stockman Construction to finish the work along Dude Ranch Road. The project replaces the asphalt walking trail with ADA-compliant sidewalks and improves storm drainage. The bid amount was for just under $402,000. That’s roughly $70,000 over the low bid submitted by Donald Maggi of Rolla. The board voted to spend the extra money over concerns regarding quality of previous contract work conducted by Maggi within the city.
