“Drive sober or get pulled over”. That’s a word of warning being put out by authorities in the Lake Area for the upcoming St. Patrick’s Day holiday weekend. Lieutenant Tim Taylor, with the Osage Beach Department of Public Safety, says officers will be out in full force as part of the substance-impaired driving crackdown. Taylor also says drunk driving is not only a local problem but a continuing epidemic nationwide. Last year in Missouri alone, 179 people were killed and more than 600 others seriously hurt in crashes involving at least one impaired driver. The DWI crackdown, across the Lake Area, is scheduled to be conducted March 16th through the 19th.
