A Montreal woman faces several charges after an alleged drunk driving wreck leaves one person dead and sends another to the emergency room. The highway patrol report indicates it happened just past midnight, Saturday morning, on Carroll Cave Road, near Davis Hollow Road, in Camden County. The car driven by 25-year-old Jessie Underwood-Wilson traveled off the road before striking a tree. 21-year-old Samantha Holmes, of Camdenton, was flown to University Hospital where she died Saturday afternoon. A second passenger, 21-year-old Hannah Gehner also from Camdenton, suffered moderate injuries and was treated at Lake Regional. Underwood-Wilson escaped injury. She is, however, charged with two counts of DWI involving serious injury, careless an imprudent driving involving a wreck and for not maintaining insurance. Those charges are, likely, to be upgraded in light of the death of Holmes. Underwood-Wilson was taken to the Camden County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold.
