E-Sports could be taking off at Versailles High School. The Morgan County R-II School Board will meet in regular session Monday evening. One of the items under new business on the agenda is a request to establish a central treasury account for an E-sports club. E-Sports has gained popularity at several levels across the country and the world over the last few years, with many colleges now offering scholarships for good gamers. There’s even a site from the NCSA, or “next college student athlete,” that helps recruit and provide information on e-sports athletes. At the University of Missouri, they recently won the Rocket League championships in their first year of competition. Also on the agenda is an item relating to traditional sports. The board will vote on a proposal to replace the turf on their football field. That meeting is scheduled for 7pm Monday at the Middle School library.
