A third time is definitely NOT a charm for an Osage Beach man who found himself sitting in the Camden County Jail early Wednesday morning. Lieutenant Michael O’Day, with Osage Beach, says officers were first dispatched shortly after 4-AM to the area of Hwy-54 and Case Road for a report of someone tearing off road reflectors from the median divider. The subject, identified as 58-year-old Dale Welcher, took off on foot into a wooded area and was able to get away. A short time later, a call was then received to the Celebration Cruise parking lot for a report of a subject damaging vehicles. Again, Welcher was able to get away until just after 5:45 when he was seen driving a bulldozer down the middle of Jeffries Road. In addition to tearing off the median reflectors, Welcher is accused of damaging two vehicles in the Celebration parking lot as well as damaging a yard at Lakewood Resort and the pavement on Jeffries Road while taking his joyride on the dozer. Welcher was taken to Lake Regional for evaluation before being transported to the Camden County Jail…he’s charged with Tampering with a Motor Vehicle, Resisting Arrest and Property Damage. Bond was set at $50-thousand.
