We haven’t reached the month of March yet and the Highway Patrol is already reporting two calls for boat fires. The first happened earlier this month at a location along Greenwood Lane, in Gravois Mills. In it, a 51-foot Bluewater was fully engulfed burning down to the waterline and also causing extensive damage to the dock. The cause of that boat fire is undetermined. The patrol also reported another call this past weekend for a possible boat fire. While en route, fire personnel from the Sunrise Beach District were cancelled after it was determined that it was only an overheated engine. There were no injuries reported from either of the incidents.
