A former teacher for the Miller County R3 School District and, currently, an educator for a Camden County school district is free on bond after being arrested and charged with second-degree sexual misconduct…a class-C misdemeanor. Joseph Perry Rice, IV, is accused of soliciting explicit photographs and sexual contact from a former 16-year-old female student in the Tuscumbia district. Rice was released with special conditions after posting a $2-thousand bond. Investigating the allegations, which date back to May of 2017, were the Miller and Camden County sheriff’s departments, the Missouri Department of Social Services, Kids’ Harbor and the Missouri State Technical Assistance Team. Rice has retained a private attorney.
