An Eldon man is killed when his vehicle is hit by a truck headed the wrong way on Highway 54 in Cole County.
Fifty-six-year old Larry Huston was driving his 2004 Ford van west on 54 at 2:30 Sunday morning. A 1995 Dodge Ram headed east in the westbound lanes of 54 hit Huston’s van head on. The Eldon man was not wearing a seat belt and suffered fatal injuries.
The driver of the Dodge Ram, 29-year old Marta Vaca of Kingdom City was wearing a seat belt and suffered serious injuries. Her passenger, 29 year old Jerry Friend of Fulton was not wearing a seat belt and was seriously injured.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol has not charged the driver of the wrong way truck. This is fatality number 54 for Troop F in 2011.
