The Eldon R-1 School District is looking at putting a no tax bond increase on the April ballot for voters in the district. Similar to the no tax bond issue the Camdenton R-3 schools had last year, Eldon is looking to extend the current bond from 15 years to 20 years in order to access the money needed to complete a storm shelter in the school as well as renovations to the auditorium and safety improvements throughout the school. The storm shelter room will also double as the new early learning center for the district. The storm shelter is expected to cost around 2.3 million dollars, 1 million of which will be covered by the federal emergency management agency and the other under the revised bond if approved by the voters.
