A 20 year old Eldon woman has been charged with stealing in Saint Charles. Police say Ariel Vernon took a purse out of a shopping cart outside a Walmart last week. She reportedly tried to use one of the credit cards in it at a China Buffet, that night, but was denied, because the card had been canceled. During their investigation, officers found security video of Vernon taking several pieces of jewelry from the Walmart. The misdemeanor and felony stealing charges could lead to eight years in prison.
