A 54-year-old from Eldon will spend the next ten years in the department of corrections after being sentenced this past week on felony drug charges in Miller County Circuit Court. Prosecuting Attorney Ben Winfrey says Beverly McConnell entered the guilty plea to a charge of possession with intent to distribute after conducting a drug deal in October of 2016 while in a restaurant drive through. McConnell had previously also entered a guilty plea on an unrelated possession charge stemming from an incident in March of 2015. She was sentenced to 10 years for the 2016 charge and seven years on the charge from 2015. The sentences will be served concurrently.
