The Camden County Emergency Management Agency tackles the issue of “when is too much information too much”…?
Executive Director Samantha Henley says the EMA had been receiving numerous inquiries about the different types of notifications, such as severe weather, that are sent over the Hyper-Reach system to registered cell phones.
When the system was set up, flood warnings were not included on the list but have, since, been put on that list of ten warnings to be sent out.
The other warnings to be broadcast in Camden County, as needed, over the Hyper-Reach system include: earthquake, high wind, ice storm, law enforcement, local area emergency, severe thunderstorm, shelter in place, tornado and winter storm.
More info about the Hyper-Reach system for Camden County can be found on the EMA’s website.
