A Laclede County man who was awarded $28 million dollars for suffering a lung injury while on the job is now looking to return to work but the area company he worked for says he shouldn’t be allowed to. 56 year old Philip Berger alleged in the suit he won against Copeland Scroll Compressors, now owned by Emerson climate technologies that he was exposed to dangerous metalworking fluids, and is now asking for time to respond to a motion filed by Emerson to have a wrongful termination and discrimination lawsuit tossed out. This suit follows a 3 year battle that ended with Berger being awarded the monetary damages.
