Data is coming on how the state did for the fall turkey firearm hunting season.
Officials with the Missouri Department of Conservation say preliminary numbers show that hunters checked in just over 2,000 turkeys in the hunt, which came to a conclusion on Saturday.
Two Lake area counties are in the top 3 for turkey counts overall, including Maries county in 2nd with 58 turkeys and Laclede County, who’s tied with Franklin County for 3rd with 55 turkeys.
Fall archery turkey hunting season is still underway and continues through January 15th.
