Fewer students need remedial education in Missouri colleges and universities.

The Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development just published an annual report showing first-time students were taking remedial math almost 30-percent of the time in 2019, but that number’s down from just over 35-percent in 2014.

Undergraduates were taking remedial math 25-percent of the time in 2014, and that was down to just under 20-percent in 2019.

The report shows similar decreases in English remediation.
