A recent fire in the Gravois Mills fire district is being used as an illustration of a fire safety tip – close your doors when you go to sleep. The blaze in a manufactured home on Luvin Road caused extensive damages to the entire structure, with one exception. A back bedroom that had the door closed when the fire broke out was only moderately damaged.
The fire was fed down the hall in a wind-tunnel effect. No one was home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is undetermined but Hancock says it may have been caused by an electrical problem or smoking.
