It’s been a topic which has failed to gain any momentum for the past 15 years or so. That is, until now. The Camdenton Board of Aldermen, Tuesday night, was formally presented with the question of whether the city fire department should merge with the Mid-County Fire District. Mayor John McNabb says there are two main reasons to go forward with the merger.
McNabb went on to say that change is sometimes hard but sometimes for the best. The Mid-County Fire District is staffed 24-7 while the Camdenton City Fire Department has paid personnel during business hours and then dependent on volunteers outside of those hours and weekends. No action was taken on the merger but will be a future topic during another board of aldermen meeting.
