As we near the end of the calendar year, medical calls continue to dominate responses for the fire districts across the lake area.

In the Gravois District for the week just ending on Saturday, Chief Ed Hancock says 17 of the 24 calls for service were medical emergencies.

There were also two calls each for traffic accidents, brush fires and animal rescues and once call for a commercial structure fire at a wood working business on north-5…only minor damage was reported when a waste paper basket caught on fire.
