The Mid-County Fire District is teaming up with the University of Missouri’s Fire and Rescue Training Institute to provide training that Lake Area fighters and first responders hope will not have to be put into action again anytime soon. Rob Odenwald, Division Chief for the Mid-County District, says the aircraft firefighter rescue training is designed to make sure first responders know what to do in the case of an airplane crash or other types of incidents at an airport…
Odenwald also says the training will involve emergency procedures whether the incident happens at an airport or off-site from the airport…
The aircraft firefighter rescue training is free and being funded by a grant from the Missouri Division of Fire Safety. The training, at the Mid-County Fire District Headquarters, will take place all day, from 8-5, on September 6th.
