Area firefighters are about to get even busier with annual dock inspections. Mid-County Inspector Dustin Britzman says the fire district will conduct a full electrical inspection of your dock, at a cost of $50 minimum, to make sure you are up-to-date on any equipment or new regulations which are now in place.
Britzman says, at least in the Mid-County district, a re-inspection to check on any improvements or repairs that were needed will also be done at no charge. A third visit, however, will result in you being charged for the inspection. It’s also recommended that you call your fire district for a dock inspection as far in advance of the upcoming season as you can and not wait until just a couple days before the Memorial Day weekend.
