It’s not the way you’d want to start the New Year, earlier this afternoon (Thursday) the Mid-County fire protection district had to put out a few fires. According to Fire Chief Scott Frandsen, firefighters traveled to the sunny slope area of Camdenton on Kaiser Red Bud Lane to a residence where the owner’s pickup truck caught fire. Frandsen says the homeowner started the truck to warm it up and it just went up in flames. While the home was not affected, a small storage shed did receive some damage. Then while they were putting that fire out, a lady raced to them saying her house was on fire and sure enough it was. Firefighters drove down the block to Rocky Ledge and were able to put that fire out as well. In both cases no one was injured and damage was kept to a minimum.
