Fireworks are banned in the City of Osage Beach, they are readily available throughout the Lake area. The state issued over 1,000 licenses for fireworks sales this year, and business is booming. Osage Beach Fire Protection District Deputy Chief Terry Paul reminds us, fireworks are not toys. “Children should never use fireworks unless thyey’re adult supervision,” he says, and “people need to exercise care and safety when they’re using these items.” The safest way to enjoy fireworks is at public displays. Bear Bottom Resort, Tan-Tar-A, and the Lake Valley Country Club are all offering waterfront 4th of July fireworks shows beginning at dusk.
