Osage Beach passed the first reading of its budget with no debate at Thursday night’s board meeting.
The city’s $28 million dollar budget had one lone no vote from the board president Steve Kahrs.
Alderman Kahrs did not attend the city’s three budget meetings due to family business.
The 2012 budget contains almost $9 million dollars for the combined water and sewer fund, almost $7 million in the general fund, and just over $5.2 million dollars for the transportation fund.
UPDATE:
Mayor Penny Lyons says the city does not have a COLA in the next budget. The city will return to its matrix formula to determine increases. The mayor says the employee salaries are projected to increase an average of 2.4% using the matrix.
