A fishing tournament for two anglers at Lake of the Ozarks turned into anything but just an ordinary outing this past weekend. Alan Daniels from Kansas City, Kansas, and Jeff Sell, of Lees Summit, were taking part in the Missouri State Championship and had just turned into Davy Hollow Cove, in the Shawnee Bend Area, when fishing soon became the furthest thing from their minds.
Daniels maneuvered the boat over to near the dock with Sell going into the 70-degree water to help the unidentified, older woman who had obvious signs of injuries after, apparently, falling some five-feet off a seawall into a rocky area of water. The woman’s husband and a neighbor soon also arrived on the scene to help. Sell and Daniels, both, downplay the hero concept calling their actions basic instinct.
